Mid-Century Millwood

Argonne Library March 23, 3-4pm

The Mid-Century World of Millwood.  Explore the style of Millwood homes built following World War II, showcasing post-war life as the small, company town expanded.

More Details

See the subdivisions of Millwood and the architectural styles of the homes, also referred to as Mid-Century Modern.  Plus, hear about the local shops and businesses of the time, and meet the citizens and see how the spent their time in 1950-1960s.    Enjoyable for adults and teens.

Presented by Bobbie Beese, a founding member of Millwood History Enthusiast.

Millwood Historical Walking Tour

Saturday, May 4; 2-4pm.

Led by local historian Greg Mott

Enjoyable for adults and teens

During this guided walk around Millwood’s Historic Business District and the neighborhood it serves, learn about the historic homes and varied architecture of this unique area.  Discover the vibrant business district that provided the essentials for the residents of early Millwood.  Afterwards, the group will gather to enjoy refreshments provided by the Friends of the Argonne Library.

Registration is required.  Register at the Argonne Library.
